Can’t believe it’s already time to wrap up intro to fabrication. I’ve been having a lot of fun in this class and will definitely miss weekend/late night shop sessions. For my final project, I made a pumpkin carriage that will run (a little) when you place the pumpkin onto the button.
I had many ideas as soon as I learned about the material and fasteners assignment (mostly silly objects which seems to become a reoccurring theme in my work). The combination of felt and magnet is what I decided to work with this week. With the unique nature that magnet carries, I made a banana that can be peeled and reversed.
I’ve been wanting to combine physical computing and fabrication project since the beginning of the semester but haven’t had the ability to try it out until now. For this week’s enclosure assignment, I decided to create a mouse with a switch as its nose that will turn its red LED eyes on when it touches an object.
Halloween is only a month away! My friends and I are planning on dressing up as different fast food characters. I am going to be Panda Express and hence I thought I’d use this assignment to complete part of my costume.
Food is such an important part of my life. I am always in the hunt for new recipes and restaurants. Unfortunately, I haven’t had much time to cook or eat out (proper dinner) and hence I decided to dedicate this week’s project to my love of food.
